Churches in Turkey being wiped out

Turkey was once considered to be the model of a secular, modern Muslim democracy. Today, Christians are being purged from that country. The most notable symbol of that transformation is the Hagia Sophia. Once a Christian church, it was sacked by Muslim invaders and turned into a mosque. For the last 85 years it was a museum, but recently there have been attempts by Turkey’s Islamist leader to turn it back into a mosque. And of course, Turkey still refuses to acknowledge the genocide of Armenian, Greek and Assyrian Christians.
